RAMAKRISHNA JAYANTHI CELEBRATION

The ‘Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishnar Jayanthi’ was celebrated on 12th Mar 2024 at our Vidyalaya temple. The Palanquin procession of ‘Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna’ was arrived our institution on 13th Mar 2024 and all the staff members and hostel students worshiped with piety and fervor.

INTER POLYTECHNIC TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

Our college organised a State Level Inter-Polytechnic Technical Symposium on 07th Mar 2024. 26 teams from various Polytechnic Colleges were enrolled and 16 teams were selected for the symposium. Innovative models and project works were presented through PPTs and a skill contest in Computer Aided Design and Programming were conducted. Swami Tadbhasanandaji Maharaj, Correspondent of our College distributed the prizes to the winners.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

On the occasion of National Science Day, A two-day Science Exhibition titled “Contribution of Science in Engineering & Technology” was organised in our Polytechnic College on 28th Feb 2024 and 29th Feb 2024. This Science Exhibition was inaugurated by Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya on 28th Feb 2024. Swami Tadbhasananda, Correspondent of Polytechnic College and Swami Divyanamananda, Correspondent of Industrial Training Institute also graced the occasion.

A total of 57 projects under the ideas and concepts of Basic Sciences, 55 mini projects in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical and Electronics engineering and 13 Information Technology software based projects were exhibited. Nearly 1440 students are expected to visit the exhibition from various schools in and around Vidyalaya. Swamiji’s, Heads of institutions of Vidyalaya and Staff members from various institutions also visited the exhibition.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Our staff and students attended the Republic Day celebrations in our college on 26th Jan 2024. Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent hoisted the National flag and delivered the Republic Day address.

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN

The Department of Basic Engineering celebrated Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday as ‘National Mathematics Day’ on 22nd Dec 2023. Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent delivered the presidential address and Dr A K Abdul Hakeem, Associate Professor, SRMV College of Arts and Science delivered the guest lecture. A video show about ‘Father of Mathematics – Srinivasa Ramanujan’ was screened. A Quiz competition in the topic Analytical thinking also conducted between four departments.

SARASWATHI POOJA CELEBRATIONS

On 21st Oct 2023, ‘Saraswathi Pooja’ was celebrated jointly with ITI in our premises

KALAI MAGAL VIZHA 2023

Kalai Magal Vizha is an annual cultural celebration organized during “Navaratri” days at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore. The Tamil word “Kalai Magal” means Goddess Saraswati, and vizha means celebration. This three day celebration is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. First day there is a speech by an eminent personality. The second day a music concert follows. Third day dances & dramas are played by various institutions of Vidyalaya, selecting different cultural themes.

This year, We have celebrated Kalai Magal Vizha from 16th to 18th Oct 2023.  Our college students performed a drama “நாடகம் – யார் சிறந்த பக்தன்?“ in the Kalaimagal Vizha on 18th Oct 2023.

CEREMONY OF AWARDING DIPLOMA

The Ceremony of Awarding Diploma was conducted in our college on 05th Oct 2023. This academic year (2022 – 23) a total of 155 students were received Diplomas in all four Braches (DCE 26; DME 39; DEEE 49; DIT 41). Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent of our college welcomed the gathering. Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya presided over the function and blessed the students. Er R Vijaya Banu (Alumnus DCRE 1977 – 1980) State Vice President, Federation of All Civil Engineers Association of Tamilnadu & Puducherry delivered the Convocation Address.  The Dignitaries presented the Diploma Certificates. 138 students out of 155 attended and awarded with Diploma Certificate. The function was concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by Dr S Chandrasekaran, Principal of our College.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 05th Sep 2023. Sri K Daththathreyan, Teacher, T A T Kalanilayam Middle School delivered the Teachers’ Day address. Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent delivered the presidential address. All the Staff members of our Polytechnic College and ITI attended the programme.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Our college students participated in the Independence Day march-past parade held at SRMV MCPE, Vidyalaya on 15th Aug 2023. In our College celebrations, Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent hoisted the National Flag. The students of Information Technology donated eco-friendly paper pencils with plant seeds to all the students. Also they have donated Rs. 501 to Sister Nivedita Anna Yojana Scheme. Through our NSS, we organised an online quiz programme on 15th Aug 2023 and e-certificates were issued for the participants.

SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF EEE DEPARTMENT

The 25th year of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department was inaugurated by Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent and Sri T Sridhar, CEO, M/s EHP India, Chennai on 12th July 2023. They also organized a programme for creating awareness on usage of paper bags on World Paper Bag day. The students presented paper bags to the dignitaries.

INTER POLYTECHNIC TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

Our college organised a State Level Inter-Polytechnic Technical Symposium on 28th Mar 2023. 67 papers from 32 institutions were received and 20 papers were selected from 14 institutions and presented in the symposium. NATIONAL PI DAY

The Basic Engineering Department celebrated ‘National Pi Day’ on 13th Mar 2023. Sri N Eswaran, Sri S Ramasamy and Sri K Sekar, Lecturers of Mathematics Department delivered the lectures and a video show about ‘Life of Pi’ was screened. First year DCE & DEEE students attended the programme.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

The National Science Day was celebrated on 28th Feb 2023. Dr S Gobi, Asst. Professor, Department of Physics, SRMV College of Arts & Science delivered the lecture titled “The Pioneering of Indian Research by Swami Vivekananda” All the students of first year attended the function.

RAMAKRISHNA JAYANTHI CELEBRATION

The ‘Ramakrishnar Jayanthi’ was celebrated on 21st Feb 2023 at our Vidyalaya temple. Our College Teaching and Non-teaching staff members attended the occasion. The chariot of Sri Ramakrishna was arrived our institution on that day and all the staff members and hostel students worshiped with piety and fervor.

Two-day Science Exhibition titled “Contribution of Science in Technology”

A two-day Science Exhibition titled “Contribution of Science in Technology” was organised by our Polytechnic College on 13.02.2023 and 14.02.2023. This Science Exhibition was inaugurated by Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya on 13.02.2023. Swami Tadbhasananda, Correspondent of Polytechnic College and Swami Divyanamananda, Correspondent of Industrial Training Institute also graced the occasion.

From the Basic Science Department, 14 exhibits were displayed on the topic  “Increasing communication skills and testing vocabulary in English”. Also 9 exhibits were exhibited in Easy way of remembering mathematical formulas and creating 3D mathematical models using Hologram and other related principles. Related to Physics, 16 exhibits were displayed on the topic “Usage of laser and signal methods for household usage, safety and remote control using Bluetooth modules”. In Chemistry, 9 exhibits were displayed related with production of energy from waste materials and principles of industrial pollution. Also 6 exhibits were presented on Testing General Knowledge and Maintaining Good habits.

20 mini projects were demonstrated by Mechanical Engineering department on the topic  “Advanced Technologies in Industrial applications”. Also 18 mini projects were displayed by the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering on the topic “Wireless Technologies and Automation”. 10 models were displayed on the Evolution of Houses and Building for Modern Era by Civil Engineering department. Also a demonstration on use of Arch dam for irrigation purpose was exhibited. Department of Information Technology developed 12 Software based Games and allowed the visitors to play.

A total of 114 projects were exhibited by Basic Science, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Information Technology Departments. Totally 1160 students visited the exhibition from Vidyalaya institutions and other nearby schools.

Swamiji’s, Heads of institutions of Vidyalaya and Staff members from various institutions also visited the science exhibition.

FOUNDATION DAY OF VIDYALAYA

Our college staff members attended the Vidyalaya Foundation Day celebrations of Vidyalaya held at Buddhar Maidan on 03.02. 2023. In our college also celebrated, Dr S Chandrasekaran Principal welcomed the gathering, Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent of our college delivered the Presidential Address, Sri C Sivaramakrishnan HoD / BS (Retd.) delivered the Foundation Day Address and Sri K Jagadeesan (1993-1996 DMRE) batch, Director, Business Development, M/s Pamz Creative Solutions, Coimbatore delivered the Acceptance Speech on the same day.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

The National Youth Day was celebrated at our college on 12th Jan 2023. Dr A Sokkalingam, Librarian spoke about ‘Swami Vivekananda’s Life History’. Also four students of first and second year gave lectures about ‘Swami Vivekananda’. Staff members and Basic Engineering Department students attended the function.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 05.09.2022. Dr R Gokul, Asst. Professor, SRMV CAS, Vidyalaya, delivered the Teachers’ Day address titled “Vasippu Ennum Arumarunthu”. Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Correspondent delivered the introductory address. All the Staff members of our Polytechnic College and ITI attended the programme.

Vidyarthi Homa:
A Student’s life in the vidyalaya Starts with the Vidyarthi Homa. Homa was performed to invoke Goddess of Arts Sarawathy to Shower her blessing on the new students. The Monks of vidyalaya graced the occasion.

Annual Day Celebration 2017:
On 2nd Feb 2017 afternoon, the preliminary prize awarding function of our college “Annual Day Celebration” for the year 2016-17 was held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall, Swami Punyavratananda and Br. Yogindrachaitanya presented prizes of various sports events and academic affairs to our students and staff. Swami Anapekshananda, Correspondent presided over the function.

On 8th Feb 2017, Annual Day for the year 2016-17 of our college was celebrated at V K Indoor stadium. Swami Anapekshananda, Correspondent, welcomed the gathering. Rev. Swami Abhiramananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions presided over the function and delivered the annual day address. Rev. Swami Baneshananda Maharaj, Spiritual Minister. Vedanta Gesellschaft, Berlin, Germany, gave benedictory address. Cultural programmes including a drama on “Bhagat Singh” were presented by our students.

Annual Sports Meet:
On 22th July 2016, Annual Sports Meet of our college was conducted. Swami Swayamprabhananda Maharaj, hoisted the National Flag. Er P Vadivelu, (DCRE., 1987-1990) AEE (Civil Engg.,),Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Programme, Kundah Bridge, The Nilgiris, hoisted the sports flag and declared open the ‘Sports Meet’. Er P V Sathiyaprabhu, (DMRE 1999-2002) Managing Director, M/s K. A Precision Engineering, Ganapathy, Coimbatore, gave away the prizes.

National Youth Day Celebration:
In 1984, the Government of India declared and decided to observe the birthday of Swami Vivekananda (12 January) as a National Youth Day every year from 1985 onwards. To quote from the Government of India’s communication, ‘it was felt that the philosophy of Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth.

On 10th Jan 2017, 10 staff and 270 students of our college participated in the “National Youth Day Rally” conducted by the Vidyalaya. Also our college was assigned with responsibility of Swami Vivekananda Big Ratham.

On 12th Jan 2017, as a part of Diamond Jubilee celebration of our college, NSS Unit celebrated the National Youth Day and conducted a special lecture. Swami Tatprabhananda, Secretary, Vidyalaya High School (Gurukulam), IARD and FAR Vidyalaya delivered a special lecture on “Swami Vivekananda”. Totally, 115 NSS volunteers including 36 NSS volunteers and 4 NSS programme officers from other Polytechnic Colleges in and around Coimbatore participated. Dr. K. Kandappan, Dean, Student Support Services, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science attended the function as special guest. A short film on “Swami Vivekananda” was screened.

Foundation Day Of Vidyalaya:
On 5th Feb 2017 forenoon, ‘Vidyalaya Foundation Day’ was celebrated by the AVAA, Vidyalaya at GKD Auditorium, 7 staff and 60 students attended the programme. 49 Alumni members of our college attended the function. On behalf of our college Alumni members Er. B Shivakumar Managing Director, Yesco Castings Pvt. Ltd. & Yesco Flow Control Engineers, Codea Park, Kurudampalayam, Coimbatore shared his memoiers of Vidyalaya through recorded video presentation.

Graduation Day:
On 30th Mar 2017, Graduation Ceremony was conducted in the V K Indoor Stadium for the post metric institutions of the Vidyalaya. 259 students of our college were graduated on this occasion. Swami Abhiramananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya blessed the outgoing students. Sri R. Somasundaram, Chairman, Texvel Group of Companies, Coimbatore, delivered the Graduation Day address.

Guru Puja:
The public celebration of the birthday of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, is the most important cultural activity of Vidyalaya and is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of January. The day long celebration includes bhajans, talks by personalities, drama, educational exhibition, music and cultural programmes. The highlight of the function is Maheswara Puja in which around 50,000 people are given a sumptuous feast.
The 200000 people participating and the Most Grand Festival “Sri Ramakrishna Guru Puja” First Sundays of Years. This year on 01.01.2017. All the Students and Teachers of our Institution Served the Devotees.

Kalai Magal Vizha:
Kalaimagal Vizha is a three-day event focussed on literature, music and drama. Celebrated every year in the month of September/October before Vijaya Dasami. On 4th Oct 2016, our student Sri N Karthikraja, III year DME delivered a speech on “Kalai Magal – Alai Magal- Malai Magal” in the Kalaimagal vizha of our Vidyalaya. On 6th Oct 2016, our Polytechnic College students performed a dance on “Mahishasura Vatham” in the Kalaimagal vizha of our Vidyalaya.
